The Piece-y Pixie

EXPERT TIP

This flexible pixie cut has many lives. It goes from edgy hairstyle to basic crop with the flick of a brush-how versatile!

HOW TO ACHIEVE THE LOOK

STEP 1

Wash and condition hair.

STEP 2

Towel-dry hair until damp and scrunch with a towel to help prevent damage and split ends.

STEP 3

Fill half of your left palm with styling mousse. With your right hand, use a wide-tooth comb to work the mousse into your hair from root to tip, ensuring the mousse is evenly distributed.

STEP 4

Blow-dry hair completely using a skeleton brush to keep hair tangle-free. As you blow-dry, push hair slightly toward the left side of your face, following the direction of the style.

STEP 5

Place a quarter-sized amount of styling gel in the palm of your hands; rub your hands together and work the gel over the surface of the hair, straightening and flattening the hair as you work the gel into your hair from root to tip in a downward motion.

STEP 6

Separate 5-6 1-inch sections of your hair from the front. Use the remaining gel in your palms to define 2 sections on the left side of your hair (in front of your left ear). Pull the remaining 3-5 sections across your forehead from left to right. Again, work the remaining gel from your hands through each of these sections, making them piece-y and defined to create an edgy hairstyle.

STEP 7

If desired, spray hair with a strong-hold hairspray.
