EXPERT TIP

Hot rollers are great for creating a curly hairstyle. When using hot rollers, claw clips are usually an easier and more effective way to secure rollers in place. Finish with a glossing spray to add plenty of shine to your curly hairstyle.

HOW TO ACHIEVE THE LOOK

STEP 1

Wash and condition hair.

STEP 2

Towel-dry hair until damp and scrunch with a towel to help prevent damage and split ends.

STEP 3

Place a nickel-sized amount of straightening crème in the palm of your hand; rub your hands together and work the straightening crème through your hair from root to tip. Follow with a wide-tooth comb to ensure the straightening crème is distributed evenly.

STEP 4

Blow-dry hair completely using a skeleton brush. Don't blow-dry hair straight, as you want to maintain as much natural body and texture as possible to create this curly hairstyle.

STEP 5

Once hair is dry, take a 1-inch section from the top of your hair; place the tips over a large hot roller and roll hair up to the scalp. Secure the rollers in place with a pin or a big claw clip. Repeat across the top layer of hair, then repeat with lower layer of hair. In total, you should have 12-15 rollers in your hair. Leave the rollers in your hair for 15-20 minutes-until the rollers are cold.

STEP 6

Take out the bottom rollers first, unrolling the rollers carefully from root to tip. Repeat this process with the top rollers.

STEP 7

Place a dime-sized amount of anti-frizz crème in the palm of your hand; rub your palms together and then scrunch your hair with your hands to define the curly hairstyle.
